| Valberg must have
one of the world's most perfectly positioned churches, set just a
few metres from the brilliant white sandy beach and the intense,
blue ocean. Admittedly that was in summer when the sun was
shining twenty four hours a day; I wonder how grim it is when the
winter darkness falls and it is all howling, bitterly cold winds...
A number of pitiful Norwegian hyperboles
demonstrating their parochial view of the world, not to mention
examples of an excess only possible with their obscene oil
wealth...an 800 metre tunnel drilled through the mountain to replace
the old pass over the mountains to serve a really substantial
community of less than ten homes!
It is, however, quite amazingly beautiful
when the sun shines, which it did on several occasions as I watched
the midnight sun bouncing off the sea... |
